Checking In

I’ve not posted for a while. Sorry about that.

I’ve been keeping very busy lately working on the book, giving presentations, and serving clients.  There has been a flurry of corporate formation work coming through the office, most of which also includes trademark work and a bunch of contract development. I’ve been asked to start writing a regular (at least quarterly) column on business legal issues for the Northern Colorado Business Report. My first column is scheduled for the first issue in July.

I was pleased to present a session on my Strange Fire: 5 Guiding Values content at the annual conference of the International Alliance of Holistic Lawyers last month at a retreat center outside of Detroit.  This is a group of lawyers dedicated to using the law for peace and healing rather than escalating conflict – not a bad goal, and a great group of people.

I’ll spend the summer trying to finish the book manuscript. The topic is spiritual creativity. I’m also planning to start doing some keynotes on this topic starting in 2009. Hopefully the keynotes will help promote the book, and the book will help promote the keynote bookings

That’s it for today.  Back to work.

back in gear

I just returned to Colorado today (via overnight Amtrak) from Iowa. My son and I had a great trip back to Gravity (yes, Gravity, IA) to see family. Many of my cousins and Rune’s second-cousins were there so he had a great time. One of the interesting things is that our little family in SW Iowa has what I think is a pretty healthy international contingency. One of my cousins married a Scotsman, and another a Frenchman. So, Rune got to play with his new best-buddy and second cousin Ben. Ben lives in Paris. Pretty cool for a bunch of farm kids!

out of the office

My son, Rune, and I are headed to my home-town back in Southwest Iowa for the weekend.  There is a memorial service that is the root motivation, but we’re also going to catch up with some friends and family.  We’re heading out by train tonight (big adventure) and returning Monday.  So, I’ll be out of the office all day on Friday (tomorrow) and most of the day on Monday.  I should be able to check email once in a while, but both email and cell connectivity will be intermittent.  If you can’t reach me, leave a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks to Rocket Jones!

Thanks to the guys at Rocket Jones for taking over my Web hosting and getting my site fixed.  I’m glad to be working with responsive professionals who answer emails and pick up the phone instead of the disembodied corporate hosting service on the other end of a 30-minute hold before tech support!

Rocket Jones Rocks!

Now that things are working again I’ll be able to start posting more often.  It’s been a while.
